40 Surgeries and this Vet Still Ran a Marathon

Believe in it®

"Freedom is a powerful and beautiful thing", said 25 year old Kyle Carpenter.  Kyle is a US Marine and was awarded the medal of honor for jumping on a grenade to save his fellow solider.

Kyle should have died, but he didn't.  After waking from a medically induced coma at Walter Reed Medical Center he set a goal of running a marathon.

Before that could happen his injuries required 40 surgeries.

This short video by ESPN will make you shed a tear and inspire you to reach your "it".  Big thank you to Kyle for his service.

By the way his Twitter handle is @chiksdigscars and he has over 300k Instagram followers.  His bio says, "Retired Marine. Living the Dream".
